Luc St. Jean’s passion for art is fueled by his intense study of the human and animal form, landscape and architecture. His work is influenced by European Classical, American Realism, Surreal, and abstract art. “No matter what the subject matter, I strive to find what’s hidden beyond the surface of what I see, and try to express what may be obscured.” His ability to interpret vision of light and color culminate in arresting and unexpected compositions, creating beautiful and distinctive works of art.
After moving to France from North America with his family, Luc began his art career at the age of sixteen when he started studying drawing, painting and sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Many of Luc’s work are enriched by his travels throughout Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Now back at home, Luc continues to find inspiration in the dramatic landscape and atmosphere of the west coast while continuing to create collections of figurative, landscape, and abstract art.
