A well-known jewelry designer, Melissa Pluch has never forgotten her passion for painting.Influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and Art Nouveau era art, Melissa is drawn to the use of elegant line and shape taken from the natural world. "My works are influenced by objects of everyday life such as vases, bowls and furniture. I find the representation of those simple everyday sculptural elements very beautiful."
While living in Japan, Melissa began to admire the Japanese design sensibility noting that, "Its flowing delicacy and visual balance is what I am always trying to achieve."
Melissa attended Ryerson University where she studied film and photography, as well as the Ontario College of Art. Her jewelry collections have been found in major North American department stores and catalogs. Melissa lives with her musician husband and two children.
