Mystic Seaport, in Mystic, Connecticut, is the nation's leading maritime museum. Housing the world's largest collection of boats and maritime photography, Mystic Seaport serves over a million people annually. It is renowned for its recreated 19th-century village of historic buildings and tall ships, exhibit galleries and unique shipyard where the nearly lost art of wooden shipbuilding is brought to life.

The Museum's planetarium, book publishing program, and acclaimed research library complement extensive maritime education courses. The diverse archives of Mystic Seaport include the famous Rosenfeld Collection, representing the evolution of photographic technology, developments in the maritime industry, and recreational and competitive boating, from 1881 to the present.

Built on the inventory of the Morris Rosenfeld & Sons photography business, this collection of nearly one million pieces is captured in a variety of formats, from glass plate negatives to color transparencies, and from glossy prints to photographic murals.
