Tina Epps

Tina Epps was born in North Hollywood California, and has lived in Virginia since the age of six. Tina, the grandchild of immigrants, is of Greek and German descent. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the College of William and Mary, and her MA in Educational Administration from Virginia State University. Tina has taught Fine Arts in Surry County Public Schools since 1984. She is known locally for her historical watercolor prints which feature local landmarks, colonial architecture, and the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry boat fleet. Her work has appeared on magazine, book, and calendar covers. Her articles and teacher advice has appeared in Arts and Activities MagazineTina loves to work in watercolor, oil pastel, mixed media and pen and ink.

In addition to teaching and creating her art, she is an avid gardener, photographer, and world traveler.  Tina has taken both students and adults to England, Scotland, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, and Greece.  She is proud to have been one of the first art teachers of internationally known artist Norman Wyatt, Jr.. Tina has 3 grown children, 3 grandchildren, and lives in Virginia with her husband Hugh and 2 cats, Spooky and Isabelle.
