Love of nature is the main inspiration for the paintings of Ariane Martine. Born and raised in the countryside of Vancouver Island, Ariane experienced a wealth of natural beauty all around her, and started painting at the age of twelve. With great encouragement from her family and friends, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Parsons Paris School of Art and Design. Bringing home more than a degree from her stay in Paris, she also acquired a feeling for design and composition inspired by the spirit of the place itself.
Ariane believes that the purpose of her art is to create a space of peace and calm for the viewer, a moment in which one can transcend thought and find connection with the higher self through beauty.
Now living very near to where she grew up, Ariane and her husband Ben, with the help of their two daughters, own and operate a bed and breakfast, enabling her to use her culinary skills every morning, leaving the rest of her day to her first love, painting.
