~Born in Split, Croatia, Katija Bjelajac migrated with her parents to Washington State where she was raised. At an early age she discovered her love for art. Her father, a former artist, is her major influence and drive.
Katija sold her first major painting at 16, a watercolor donkey, to a coffee shop in Bellingham, Washington. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Art and Design from The Art Institute of Houston. After completing her degree, Katija, delved into her fine art practice, which involved watercolor, ink and acrylic paintings.
Katija has been described as a versatile artist, able to capture multiple different styles in different mediums. Her practice has a wide range of imagery including figurative, abstract, and realism. Katija currently lives and works in Houston, Texas.
