Maggie Schnücker (she/her) is an artist, full-time maker, and the author of Botanical Embroidery: 30 Effortless Designs That Showcase the Beauty of Nature. She is a self-taught hand embroidery artist with an insatiable desire to create all the time. Maggie’s art is heavily influenced by her love for nature, whether it’s in her hand embroidery pieces, colorful illustrations, or artful paint mediums. Growing up in West Texas, Maggie’s art journey began with bright monarch butterflies and hummingbirds, cacti, and landscape paintings. Her exploration of mediums led her to her biggest loves, hand embroidery and watercolor, where these vibrant nature elements are still found. She has been noted as having an eye for color, composition, and texture in her work. Maggie and her husband are based in the North Houston area.
