Carol lives and works in an early 19th century farmhouse in the rural mountains of Massachusetts. Her artwork is inspired by a love of animals and history, and she paints her subjects with simplicity and playfulness in the style of classic historical portraiture. “To me, there’s something deeper about my art than the whimsy of painting a pooch in a dress. I believe animals deserve the same esteem as people do. Yea, we have an edge over them but they’re worthy of our respect… and even an honored spot over the mantle.”
